Preparing The Way Of The Lord – 40 Day Fast

With all these crazy confirmations, I knew God was making it very clear that He was calling me to live a ‘John the Baptist’ lifestyle of prayer and fasting. But it’s not just a call to me, it’s to our generation. The Lord wants to raise a ‘Generation of Nazarites’ just like John the Baptist; those who will set themselves apart for Him, and seek His face with consistency and fervency without compromise, to usher in the greatest awakening in the history of this nation.
I have the greatest sense of purpose I have ever had! I know why I’m here. It says on my facebook page, ‘“Awakening” was imprinted on my DNA before I got here! There is no other way of living for me…I was born to burn!’ This note is to give a background to the 40-day fast, and to encourage you to consider going on this fast with me. The purpose of the fast is two- fold:
1) To seek the Lord to raise up a fasting and prayer awakening in this nation that’d be against the Kingdom of Darkness, overthrowing the altars of Baal, sexual immorality, and abortion, ushering in the Glory of the King.
2) That God would use this prayer gathering – Prayer Storm, February 27 – to awaken our generation to consecration and a lifestyle of intercession.
We cannot, and will not, have a move of God in this land without a prayer movement. The revival that birthed the Church (in the book of Acts) started in prayer as a lifestyle, not an event. It remains true that no revival in history started outside of a prayer movement. This fast doesn’t have to be the same for everyone: some people are doing a straight fast (without food for 40 days), others are doing a Daniel fast (Daniel 1:11-13), some are fasting entertainment or the internet etc.
Before deciding on the type of fast that you are going to do, I would encourage you to pray and see how the Lord leads you. I believe fasting without prayer is just starvation. The whole point of fasting is to pray, so please don’t go into this without counting the cost.
I know this is going to be GLORIOUS. I’m writing this note in Hamilton, USA, and Winter Ramp was just crazy! The Lord has already been confirming His Word. I can’t wait to get back and begin to pray and seek the Lord. I am burning with the flames of awakening!
